CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Infection Prevention & Control
For Sheila Henry

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and we are all now working towards moving forward and creating a ‘new normal’.  By working together with you and creating a safe environment with clear guidelines and procedures in place, we feel confident we can move forward.

We have missed being able to offer you the treatments that we know you love, and we are looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of.  As you know we have always maintained an extremely high level of hygiene in the salon so any new procedures will enhance what we already do.

During the time the salon has been closed, we have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. We have since made several changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

If any of our staff feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, they will self-isolate immediately and will not come into the salon for at least 14 days.  This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled, you will be able to re-book again or be given a full refund or voucher if it is a pre-paid service.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.  If you have had symptoms, we would ask you do not visit us for a minimum of 14 days.  We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness/ other.

Please understand that we reserve the right to refuse treatment if we feel it would be unsafe for us to do so.  Each member of staff has the authority to make their own judgement on this and does not need to seek management approval.  This is purely to safeguard all our clients and staff.

Visiting the Salon

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. We aim to reduce the amount of people in the salon at the same time so you may not be able to stay after your treatment.

We ask that you bring as little as possible with you to your appointment to minimise risk of contamination.

We must also stress you MUST attend alone as we cannot accommodate anyone in the salon without an appointment.

We cannot, for the time being, allow children in the salon.

It will be unlikely we will be unable to add/change your treatment when you arrive as the timings and allocation of rooms is pre-planned to ensure everyone’s safety.  Please ensure you have booked the correct treatment before your visit.  Call us if you need help or advise on this.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client and/or every hour. We have created a checklist system for all staff to ensure this is adhered to.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised between clients, in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use to protect you from cross infection.

We will not be serving any hot drinks and there will not be any magazines or paper literature available for the time being.

We will provide water in a disposable cup or please feel free to bring your own.

We will ask you to either wash your hands or use sanitiser as soon as you enter the salon and we will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use throughout the premises.

We would encourage you to bring your own towel/blanket if possible to cover yourself during longer treatments.  Small disposable towels will be used in shorter treatments and in nail services.

We ask that you arrive wearing either a facemask or face covering on arrival to the salon and during your treatment if this is possible.

Please don’t be surprised or upset as the staff will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment.  This may include disposable gloves / facemasks /visors/aprons as appropriate.

We can confirm that when we introduce laundering using our own towels, they will be washed at 60 degrees c and will be hygienically stored between use.

All disposable items will be safely bagged after each treatment.

Our treatments

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely. There will be certain treatments which we are unable to provide until government guidance allows and the full list of services will be re-introduced when we receive new guidance.

During your treatment

Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

We will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to help you.

After the treatment

In order to avoid handling of cash, we would prefer if you could pay for your treatment by card or telephone transaction.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
